Dari Mart Website Updates

The main goals I had were to give the existing site a more robust landing page, introduce an online employment application database and delivery system, convert the old list page of locations to a map-based system, and give general oversight into site security as well as general theme improvements.

When jumping into existing sites I tend to look for systems that are weak, systems that can be utilized without introducing new ones, and systems that need a complete overhaul. Overall framework of the site lacked fundamental Bootstrap control so that was the first thing to add. Existing classes were either modified globally or adapted to adhere to the newer framework.

The employment application made use of conditional and repeater fields to allow visitors to submit full applications online which then forwarded using SMTP connections to hiring personnel.

One of the most rewarding portions of the new theme development was moving from a static locations list to a robust modern map system. All locations exist as post meta with custom CMS interfaces.

Finally, there was the migration and securing of the site on a new host. DNS was configured by Dari Mart and I handled firewall and port configurations.
