This project was unique in that it had well established design aesthetics and rich photography prior to my involvement but also in that the needs of the site were equally robust. This brand development played nicely into the theme pallet and guided most of the aesthetic. The major functional requirements made this equally enjoyable to work on as it meant organizing a robust CMS system that was easy to maintain and a front end rendering of actual live hydroelectric generation.
The rolling news, meetings and social were built using RSS feed technology, custom news post types, and Facebook API calls. These rolling lists were all designed with unified aesthetics in mind so that various external and internal sources had similar if not identical brand/type vocabulary.
The dials toward the bottom of the homepage were built using remote database calls and rendered in a front end dial interface. The interesting part of this project was in working with technicians and working through connectivity implementation strategies.
All in all this was a great project that showcased my ability to take minimal design direction and extrapolate that into a full featured site that hit all client requirements.
